Kosovo's representatives, including Foreign Minister Enver Hoxhaj and former President Behgjet Pacolli, have welcomed the words of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who called for a more realistic approach towards Kosovo on 24 July. Vucic stressed that the key part is communication, and therefore, he wants to start an internal Serbian dialogue.

Vucic has already declared his effort to resolve the dispute over the territory of Kosovo during his inauguration ceremony in May. He pledged to preserve Serbia’s integrity but added that he is open to talks with Kosovar Albanians. He has mentioned several times in the past that relations between Belgrade and Pristina must be normalized and called for international discussions to resolve the matter. However, the current attempt seems to be more focused on domestic audiences to also change their views towards a realistic approach. According to Kosovo's officials, it is now Serbia’s turn to undertake domestic dialogue. On the other hand, Vucic said that both parties must work together and they will have to make a lot of concessions to ensure that the solution is permanent. Both sides perceive this as an opportunity that will get them closer to European integration and will bring stability to the entire region.
