Jens Stoltenberg, NATO General Secretary, on 26th of February 2017 urged all parties in Macedonia to exercise restraint in statements and actions during the process of creation of new government. The General Secretary of NATO demanded the politicians in Macedonia to fully implement their commitments under the Przino Agreement, as the framework for a sustainable solution to the political crisis. He observed that the elections in Macedonia were well-administered and to have proceeded without major incidents. It is expected authorities in Skopje to fulfil the next step in the democratic process now when it has been announced that, in line with the requirement specified by the President to earn the mandate to form a government, enough MPs' signatures have now been collected by the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM). According to the Stoltenberg, NATO remains committed to the membership of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in the Alliance, in line with the decision made at the 2008 Bucharest Summit and Allied Declarations made at subsequent NATO summits.
