An Easter ceasefire is expected to be observed across Ukraine’s Donbass region from 1 April. The trilateral contact group on resolving the Ukraine conflict announced the truce in Minsk on 29 March. The ceasefire should last until Easter in mid-April. Authorities should also relax restrictions on the border of the rebel-held territory to facilitate family visits.

It was not immediately clear how closely the sides will adhere to the truce as two Ukrainian soldiers were killed and 10 wounded in the last 24 hours, while 94 ceasefire violations were registered near Avdiivka, Krymske and Troicke areas.
